Jomsom Muktinath

13 Day/s Lodge Trek in Nepal

A scenic half hour flight north of Pokhara brings us to Jomsom which is the extension of the Tibetan plateau bordering the once forbidden city of Mustang. The trek starts through barren and extremely windy landscape to Muktinath – one of the most revered Hindu and Buddhist shrines in the Himalayas. We turn back and trek through Kagbeni, a crossroad facing the magnificent Dhaulagiri range (8,167m). The return trip to Pokhara is along the ridge above the world’s deepest gorge Kali Gandaki between the two giant massifs, the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna. Colorful mule trains will be encountered along the way, as they follow the old trade route between Pokhara and Mustang. You will meet an amazing variety of people – Tibetan, Thakali, Gurung, Magar, Chettri and Newar, which makes this one of the most interesting regions to trek in Nepal.
