Everest Base Camp
This is a trek that takes you to Everest Base Camp from where expedition members have looked on Everest with hope for the success of their expedition. It is a place, which bears memories of many celebrations as well as defeats and tragedies.
The trek starts with a flight to Lukla and then a walk up the DudhKoshi River to Namche Village where an extra day is spent for acclimatizing. We walk along the moraine of Khumbu Glacier to reach GorakShep, an ancient lakebed that was the original Everest base camp, later moved nearer to the mountain below the Khumbu Icefall. Each day brings us closer to the Himalayas and the climb to the ultimate viewpoint at Kalapathar, offers you a view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse (world's fourth highest mountain), Pumori, AmaDablam and panoply of other mountains, all in one graceful 180 degree panoramic arc.
This memorable trek ends at Lukla, and an early morning flight brings you back to Kathmandu.
